Not quite sure how to peg their sonically eclectic sound, the Long Island based Robbers put themselves in the "indie/alt/jungle" categories on their myspace page. But if lead singer, guitarist, keyboardist, and chief songwriter Andrew Accardi had his way, they would create a new genre for them: Vague, as in allowing the listener to define the music from the rich mix of edgy and energetic, thoughtful and moody impressions their songs give. Or "vague", as in Robbers putting out fascinating words and musical emotions that are beyond their ability to define or control. All of these elements come together on their incredibly compelling sex track debut EP "Flesh" on Unicrons Records.

Consumer smashes the bells and whistles decorating today's average modern hardcore/metal outfit, approaching heavy music with an honesty and urgency both rare and fortifying. A Lancaster, PA based band, Consumer's abrasive down-tempo sound integrates effects-laden, atmospheric guitar work, guttural vocals, and relentless aggression together to form a unique and artistic form of hardcore.. With a sound that exhibits several eras of musical influence, Consumer will appeal to fans of bands such as Converge, Norma Jean, Neurosis, and Modern Life is War. The upcoming Consumer EP is a testament to heavy music still incorruptible by the constant pressures of unsteady musical trends, a definitive statement about the nature of both music and our own society as a whole.
As the four piece, Rialto, California based powerhouse Media gears up for the release of their debut album in early 2009 on the new indie label Unicrons, itís ironic that they originally wanted to name it after one of its most compelling and hooky tunes, ì1982.î With lead vocalist and bassist Jordan Kennedy being the oldest of the bunch at 19, none of the guys were around back then, but their original vibeówhich blends perfectly with their more contemporary, explosive energy--makes them fun time traveling companions.
